Tony Frye offers private music lessons in guitar, bass guitar, trombone, trumpet, and piano throughout Livermore, Dublin and Pleasanton as well as surrounding east bay towns. His experience as an instructor includes assistant director for the Granada High Band from 1999-2003, small group instruction, and private instruction for over 80 students since 2001. Rates are negotiated based on location, time slot, and number of students in your home you wish to be taught.
Tony offers instruction in rock, blues, jazz and classical music as well as music theory and composition. All students are taught the fundamentals of music theory and will read music for their instrument. He has developed a lesson plan that gets students playing popular music during their first lesson and builds note reading and playing techniques off of songs familiar to students as well as parents.
All lessons are done in the students home or in studio for a half an hour once a week. Monthly payments can be made online via this site and are made securely through Pay Pal. You do not need a Pay Pal account to make payment and, of course, cash and check are always accepted in person.

Why should you choose lessons with Tony Frye instead of going with a big studio and a team of teachers? The simple answer is your satisfaction. Studios are in the business to sell merchandise and private lessons are a way of getting a steady flow of potential customers into the store. Going with an in-home or a retail free studio ensures that the only pressure your child will receive is the pressure to practice and get better at their instrument. Also, without a music studio dictating rates and scheduling, a private instructor can offer a more affordable rate and flexible schedule than a studio can.
Please email Tony with any questions or concerns you may have about private lessons before you make a final decision. As much as music lessons are for your child, you should also expect a return on your investment in the way of progress and interest from your child. These things can be acheived at a much greater level with your own personal teacher. |
