In a Heartbeat
Inspired by the untimely loss of a dear friends father, In a Heartbeat is the second movement in a three movement string quartet piece. This movement tells of sudden loss and the frailty of life. The unity is broken when one heart fails to beat and the remaining parts slowly build unity after accepting their loss. This is the first complete movement of the piece and has been played by the Las Positas Chamber Orchestra.
